I think the auto-close menu option should be based on the last button in that menu you pressed, not the parent menu button.
For example, one of my menu's is all my consumables. Now before a fight I have to pop on 2 elixirs and a weapon buff. I can sometimes get 2 of these clicked in time. Basically what I am saying is the internal timer on closing menu's should reset if a button on that menu was clicked. Or maybe if the timer is something like 8 seconds, it gets reset to 5 sec.

Hadn't Moon planned to implement a "menu close on mouse out" or does my mind trick me? That would solve your issue, too, wouldn't it? I'll try to find the corresponding post, else regard this as suggestion. [edit] I found the post here.

The thing is I don't want my menu's to open by mouseover. I mouseover LS a lot and it would be very annoying. I just would like there to be a system that the menu stays open if you are still using it, but closes if you are not.

BTW the mousover would not solve the problem anyway b/c if you would have to mouseover the main menu button every time to get it to reopen, why not just click it while your cursor is there. Also the thread you linked was a suggestion for "mouseover" of the menu button, not "menu close on mouse out."

I tried to link directly to a specific post moon made in that thread - don't know why that didn't work properly. Yeah, I'll be adding that to each main button. I'll have these options: - Auto-hide - automatically hide the menu when the mouse leaves the buttons after 2-3 seconds. - Auto-show in combat - will appear when combat begins (and revert back to its original view after combat) - Auto-hide in combat - will disappear when combat begins (and revert back to its original view after combat) The "auto-hide" seems for me to fit your wish, as it would only close the menu after 2 - 3 seconds not mousing over the buttons, but will not open any automatically. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I actually thought I set it up so with the "auto-close" feature turned on, it will close the menu if there has been no clicking OR if the mouse wasn't over any of the buttons. Maybe it only applied to the menu button and didn't get passed down to the child buttons properly. I'll look into that, because it should stay open as long as your mouse is over ANY of the buttons linked to the menu button.
As for the "mouseout" option, it would close the menu when the mouse leaves any of the buttons. It's essentially the same as the "auto-close" idea, but instead of there being a 2-3 second delay, it's almost instant.
I'll look into having some extra options to fiddle with in the Sphere Settings window to define how long certain things should wait before closing and other things ... that might make it a little easier as well...
