I'm a recent convert to LunarSphere, and I've been enjoying the templates that are included for the various classes. I do have three questions that I'm hoping someone can clear up for me:
1) I've noticed that after training new spells, the only way I can seem to get my sphere to "fill in" the buttons for those new spells is to reload the template (and thus the UI). Given that I use a lot of addons, the reload takes a while. Am I just missing something? Is there some other way to make the buttons pick up on the new spells I have learned? I noticed a post from Moongaze back on 19 May 08 where he was considering how to handle this behavior. Was anything ever implemented?
2) Is there a way to see what the complete layouts look like for each class template? I looked at djp's site, but it looks like the included templates are not the same.
3) In the priest template, it seems Lesser Heal and Heal are not included. Is this an oversight, or because the template was designed to be used after a character obtains Greater Heal?
Thanks for an amazing addon!

1) You currently have to do a reload, no choice. Yes Moon did mention something about an idea, but so-far nothing has come of it (he might revisit it after public release) 2). Yes mine are different as mine are based on other sphere addons while the built-in give you nearly ever spell (to be used as a action bar replacement basically). Currently the only way to see, is of course load them up. Moon is planning a site for Lunarsphere when it goes public, maybe he will put up previews 3) Beats me, maybe Moon can answer that?

Thanks djp for the quick response! I suspected I'd have to keep reloading, so I'll just hope moongaze revisits the issue at some point.
Regarding seeing the whole layout, I again suspect I'm missing something. Is the only way to see all the buttons filled in to load the template on a lvl 80 character? When I load a template on a low-level character (which are the vast majority of my alts) all I see are the spells that character currently has. Moongaze mentioned he was considering this issue in that same May 19 post.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday!

The templates were created to load up all spells that you currently have and have always been the case. I know that I was thinking about doing something to make it so when you learn a new spell, it would automatically be added where it would have been on the template, but I really haven't approached the idea because it would require some heavy changes in some areas and I just didn't want to tackle it until after the public release of LunarSphere. The main reason why I didn't want to do this is because the template is just that, a template. Users are meant to and encouraged to move the buttons around, swap the positions of the spells, delete the spells they don't need, and add spells that they learn to them. Like the previous sphere addons, the spells that you would see were usually limited to the spells you had. However, if you learned a spell, you would see it on the sphere in these addons. However, you could not assign spells in those addons except for a limited amount the addon would let you, and even then, it was to 1-3 buttons, max. Since LS lets you drag and drop any spell, item, or macro to any button, I figured that users would just add their new spells like normal, just like they would add their new spells with the default Blizzard UI or another action bar addon. I would like to look into "dynamic" templates in the future, but if I do this, I would impose some restrictions on the user, and I DON'T want to do that. Dynamic templates would mean "empty" buttons could never be edited, because if they were, the template data would be lost. Therefore, the user would be limited to the buttons they see. If you dropped a macro into an empty space and then learned a spell that would have been in that space, what would LS do? It could assign the spell to the next button in the row, but what if it was full? Dropping the spell into another menu area would be odd, and not intuitive to what the user would expect. For Priests, you have a healing menu. Having one of your healing spells suddenly appear in your attack menu would be strange, and you may never know it existed. Sadly, no. I will have every template available to look at on the website when the public release is finished, but the way the template works is a little... odd. It's not like other sphere addons where the spells are hard-coded per button (well, it is ... but it's done very differently because I wanted to have ONE setup for every locale, not one setup per locale, since spell names need to be localized). So, most of the spells are stored by icon image. Some spells, however, share icon images with other spells for that class, so I store it by spell ID. Since Blizzard lets us grab a spell icon by providing the spell ID, I suppose I could add something in the future that will be similar to having the entire template load, even if you don't have the spell (similar to what you kinda want for #1, but you'll see every spell you don't have). With the spell ID, I can just load up everything (the spell name to assign to the button, and the spell icon) and the button would just be grayed out since you don't have the spell. You could move that stuff around if you wanted and it would be fine, and as you learn the spells, they will light up. *shrug* I'll have to think about that one. The priest template has Heal, it's the first spell in your healing menu. It does not, however, have Lesser Heal, and that was a mistake on my part. I totally forgot about it! =) I'll add it to the Priest template with today's patch. You're welcome! Sorry I didn't answer everything with the response you might have wanted, but at least I gave you some reasoning behind my decisions, or some glimpse of hope that I might do it, instead of flat-out denying that I will

No need at all to apologize for your answers, Moongaze -- I'm just glad to have such a useful addon. Your explanations are perfectly logical and (as a programmer myself) I can certainly understand the reasoning behind them.
Regarding the "full view" issue -- would it be possible to post a sticky note or web page with pictures and/or a list per menu of the spells in each template? Something akin to what djp did on his site? That would at least let me (and others) see what the template looks like "in full glory" without having to modify the addon itself.
Thanks also for the add of the lesser heal spell -- my baby priest appreciates it! He's also found it useful to bind right click on the Holy Shield spell to self-cast, so that I don't have to reach for the alt key when keeping him shielded.
Thanks for responding!

I plan to have a webpage with all this information. www.lunaraddons.com is my site for this project and everything else, once the public release is out. I'm still fleshing out the site right now, and this is one of the things I'll do
