WOW 3.0 was unleashed and with it ... came a lot of headaches =) Still, LS should be fairly stable and back to how it was before the 3.0 patch, but who knows?
This thread should be used to let me know of errors and bugs. Basically, if you get an error message, it should go here. If a button doesn't update properly or doesn't show text or whatever, it should be mentioned in here.
Before you post your issue/bug in this thread, please read any posts in here before adding your comment. Also, if you can't find the bug mentioned here, check the "Stage 8 Missing features" thread to see if it's mentioned there. That will make my life easier =)
If a feature that worked prior to 3.0 is no longer working with the 3.0 client, please post this information in the "Stage 8: Missing Pre-3.0 Features" thread to help me isolate those features and get them back into LS

It would appear that mounts are having an issue, what with the new way they function.
The mount/pet 'spells' from the Pets tab can't be dragged onto buttons, nor into the 'edit buttons' boxes. Normal spells and items can still be used as such, but mounts and vanity pets cannot.
I also fiddled with setting a button to the various "use best/random" mount options, but that seems finicky at best. Sometimes it works, most of the time it does nothing. Not sure what's up with that one. Probably the same 'new mount mechanics' issue as the other one, if I had to guess.

Found the issue with the mount types not working. Well, at least one of the issues. When you set a button type to one of the mount types, it will update the icon and the tooltip and trick you into thinking everything is okay after you hit the "Save" button and go back to the sphere. When you turn off Edit mode, however, you can't use that mount. It is non-responsive. However, if you move an item around in your bags or reload the UI, it should work. It's a stupid stupid thing and I know why it is doing it... Since the issue kinda goes away when you reload the UI, I'm tempted to wait to update LS until I have more than one issue fixed. We'll see

The next time you log in with LunarSphere on, you'll get the error message in Swatter. Check the date/time at the top of the error message and press the "back" or "previous" button on the bottom of the screen to look at previous errors. When Swatter pops up, it typically shows the last error that happened, but not the first one that caused the issue. So, look at:
"Date: 2008-10-14 18:30:17"
At the top and go back until you find one that is 8+ seconds older. So, if you have this:
Error #1 Date: 2008-10-14 18:12:45 Error #2 Date: 2008-10-14 18:30:17 Error #3 Date: 2008-10-14 18:30:17 Error #4 Date: 2008-10-14 18:30:18
The bold one is what I want =) #4 will typically be the first you see, pressing back a few and you'll see the other ones. I ask because there is an issue during the LOADING of LS and that's the part that is breaking it =)
Also, what class are you playing when you get the error and what locale are you playing the game in (English, French, etc)?

This was trying to get my menus that weren't open opened (they were opened when I logged out as I never close them it's part of the way I like my UI ) but half were closed when I logged in finally and when clicked on I got that error and the menu will not open.
And to top it all off my inventory is empty.

Odd. There is a possibility that there was an error that occured during loading of the addon. If you have Swatter installed, sometime it doesn't show the error during loading and you have to manually click the swatter icon to bring up the error reports. Check to see if any errors were generated around the time you log in and follow the steps found in this post about finding the error that probably broke LS and let me know if you find anything =) Thanks! ... *looks around* It wasn't me, I swear. In other news, people might have had a specific item, spell, or macro attached to a button and while loading that button, LS is freaking out. Hopefully, with the first error message that people can track down (by paging through the errors in swatter) ... we'll be able to figure it out. Oh, another thing you can do is purge swatter's error list and then reload the UI. The very first error should be the one we're looking for (page back to error #1, it should be it). To reset swatter ... um ... I don't remember and my server is also down. I'm sure /swatter will give some commands to use. Once the list was purged: /script ReloadUI() Will get us some good stuff =)

Ok so I may have found a fix for the error... at least it seems to be working for me... I deleted my LunarSphere settings from my WTF folder and I am redoing the whole UI.... But it seems to be working now.

Both of those are perfect. The exact same error, too Now, I need to figure out what is causing the issue. It could be a few things and if one or both of you could do me favor, that would be swell. I need some information and it will require a simple edit of a file to acquire it. Hopefully one or both of you can do this =) 1) Open the moduleButton.lua file in a text editor, like Notepad. NOT Microsoft word, yuck. Just notepad will be fine. 2) Do a search for the words: "spellLink = GetSpellInfo(self.actionName);" (without the quotes). It will only appear once. 3) Add a line of code after this line (the added code is bold, below), so it reads: spellLink = GetSpellInfo(self.actionName); print(tostring(self:GetID()) .. " - " .. tostring(self.actionName) .. " - " .. tostring(self.buttonType))if not (rangeOnly == true) then 4) Save the file and reload your UI (if WOW was open) or log back into WOW. 5) Your chat window will have a BUNCH of fun stuff printing out. I'm going to be interested in the VERY LAST LINE that prints out (this will be the error producer). You will see stuff like: 1 - Flash Heal - 1 2 - Renew - 1 3 - - 2 4 - Hearthstone - 1 5 - Mana Potion - 11 If that's all you see, then the last line is what I'll want. Of course, these will look different for you, but it's the basic idea. Thanks again!

But I must add that those are all the keys I had Keybinds on.

Long time user - love this mod. THanks SOOO much for all your hard work getting LS 8.0 ready for patch 3.0. Little thing - using the "best mount" option, LS doesn't cast my Amani War Bear, Instead, it picks my Reins of the Cobalt War Talbuk. While I love my War Talbuk, the Bear really should get picked for "best mount" since I worked so hard to get it Thanks!

Well, I'm still having issues logging into my server, but I have an idea what might be causing the issue and may have you try another code edit to see if it still appears. So, go back to the area that I asked you to add that line of code and remove the line that you added and replace it with:
spellLink = self.actionName;
Yes, you're gonna have it assign spell link twice. This is a crappy quick fix that I made for the mount stuff and haven't gone back to fix it up so the names make sense. So, now you will have:
spellLink = GetSpellInfo(self.actionName); spellLink = self.actionName; if not (rangeOnly == true) then
Give that a shot and see what happens. It will probably break something else, I'm sure =)

Long time user - love this mod. THanks SOOO much for all your hard work getting LS 8.0 ready for patch 3.0. Welcome =) It goes by the speed of the mount ... so while I agree that my Murloc riding a Polar Bear mount from BlizzCon should ALWAYS be the best ground mount, it will get passed up by another mount that came first in the mount tab of the same speed. I'll get the mount assignment options working soon so that you can drag and drop the mounts from the mount screen to a button and use it that way. Until then, you'll need to summon it from the screen, or an action bar, or ... you could try making a macro: "/cast Amani War Bear" And assigning it to a button =) Although I haven't tested macros yet with Stage 8 ... so maybe it won't work. On a side note, "Use Random Ground Mount" will pick it sometimes =)
