Hi there, I've been a long time user of LunarSphere (stage 4?) and I've been wondering if this will ever be released on any of the popular mod sites (WoWInterface, curse), especially now that it's in it's final development stage? Atm, this is the last remaining addon I actually need to go to a website for in order to update. Every other addon you can get through updaters, specifically I use JWowUpdater which works with all the major distribution sites (from wowace, wowinterface, curse, wowui). Or alternatively, if a system could be set up with the JWowUpdater author to update from here. Appreciate all the work that has been done so far, thanks Note: I tried looking if this has been answered before (my guess would be yes), but couldn't find anything, sorry :S

Although LS has been out for almost a year, it is still technically in the beta stages. Stage 7, the current stage, is the last stage of this beta development. Then comes the public release, expected anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. With the public release, Moon will put LS on his new personal LS website and the major distribution websites (at least curse, maybe others). It is undecided if if he will add it to the wowace SVN for updates through wowace updater.
Feel free to correct me Moon if I got anything wrong.

No need to wowace it if that's not needed, but at least put it on WoWint for example for easy access. If there's a reason not to, then ok.

Yup, I'll have it on all the major sites along with my site. The basic idea will be as follows: Major Releases (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc), everywhere. Major bug fixes, everywhere. Beta Releases (1.001b, 1.002b, etc.), my site. Small Updates (1.01, 1.02, 1.03, etc.), my site. The reason for this is simple: It's a pain to update every site when I make a tiny change When LS goes public, this thing should be pretty solid and there should be no bugs, so it won't have an update on the addon websites till I deem a new major version is ready. I will be checking the comments left at all the site (and crying, because that's a lot of extra work), but I will be urging people to just go to my website and post their bug reports there. They can praise the addon or smite it all the want on the addon sites, but bug reports should hopefully go to my site for easy tracking. I'll be looking at the ace svn as well. I know that I can use it, even if my addon doesn't use ace at all. I love how people go to the ace site and expect everything there to be ace and say an addon is "horrible" if it's not on the ace site. Soooo ... I'll do that too, haha. >=)

as far as im concerned wowui is the BEST mod download site there is, curse is just way too bloated and seriously uploading and updating mods there is god damn awful.
wowi is meh im not going to say anything else.
ace has some really good mods no denying it but i just hate all the hype that ace mods are better then non-ace mods, thats a load of crap, infact most of the time when a non-ace mod is ported to ace it uses more code and more cpu time.
wowui on the other hand, mods are easy to upload/update, lots of USEFUL information and any problems that arise are sorted out very quickly, as myself and chaos are admins there i can guarantee that once moon uploads it it will be approved VERY quick.

1 week wait period =P j/k The wait period has only been a few hours in the past with my game addons. I used to love updating them because they would be shown in the "featured mod" section for a couple days, every time. No matter which game I uploaded a revision of, haha.

imho wowace is the best site to publish addons. There's a SVN-repo where you can put your branches (for dev) and releases (trunk). the website (files.wowace.com) is being synced with the svn-repo every ~20 minutes. So every commit to the trunk is available for everybody very soon. The updates are available with WowAceUpdater and JWoWUpdater.
