Hi all! I've moved from using SphereLoader mods like Venantes and Totemus to LunarSphere because: - I want a single mod that works for all of my characters - I recently started up a Druid (no SphereLoader mod for Druids) - I have too many other mods to maintain without writing one for Druids myself I'm still setting up the various class templates, but I've come across some weird behavior in the tooltips. When I click on a button, the border graphics get scrambled up--side borders on the top and bottom, and vice-versa. Not a game breaker by any means, but it is a little distracting. Looking forward to the next version! Ricowan

That was a bug in version 700. Version 701 that I released Friday or Saturday should have that fixed. Check out that version and let me know if you still have issues. Thanks!

I'm using 701; I deleted all three folder before unzipping 701 too. Still have the crazy borders.

Could you do me a favor? Could you take a screen shot of your tooltip tab in the LS Settings window? I wanna see what options you have turned on so that I can maybe reproduce the error. In the screen shot, could you also make sure that the "show anchor" buttons are turned on so that you can see the blue box that represents the anchors for the LS tooltip (and the other button for the game tooltip anchor) so I can see where you have the tooltip as well as what type of anchor setting it has? That would be great I don't think it will help, but after the screen shot, try hitting those two "reset" buttons and seeing if there is any change. I don't need a screen shot of that I would really appreciate it!

OK, I have a screenshot but everything on that tab is default (I've never messed with that). But your request to see the tooltip anchor location got me to thinking... I'm using TinyTip, so all tooltips are located at my cursor. LunarSphere's tooltips are obeying TinyTip, they don't appear anywhere near the anchor. I moved it around, and while I was in that mode, the tooltop appeared at the anchor, but as soon as I unchecked "Set GameTooltip anchor" TinyTip took over again.
It this doesn't help, I'll go ahead and post the screenshot.

You might want to try CowTip over at WoWAce. I haven't run into any issues with it and LS as of yet. TinyTip has always been a shaky for me when it comes to working with other mods that modify tooltips.

Sure enough. TinyTip is messing with the tooltip I examined the code in TinyTip and pretty much any change I make to the tooltip, position wise, will be wiped by TinyTip if it is messing with the GameTooltip. I changed some of my code and the LunarSphere tooltip doesn't get hijacked as much, but if you set the LS tooltip to "Custom location" you will get a scrambled tooltip. Not much I can do about it at this time. I might force LunarSphere to use it's own tooltip (not the GameTooltip) for its own tooltips so that this won't be much of an issue in the future, but that will take a while before it appears. Until then, to make LS play nicely with TinyTip, set the "Set GameTooltip Anchor" option to on, OR, don't use the "Custom anchor position" feature for the LS tooltip. That works on my end, with the changes I made. *shrug*

OK, I've tried a few combinations of those settings and all I succeeded in doing was turning off LS's tooltips completely. Don't worry about it, there's no way you can ensure compatibility with all mods. You might want to try CowTip over at WoWAce. Thanks! I'd tried CowTip a while ago and wasn't able to do everything that TinyTip did, but I'll check out the latest version. I've wanted to get rid of TinyTip for a while, this is a good excuse. heh heh

I've been using CowTip for about 2 months now, but I finally got rid of it w/ stage 7 of LS. I don't know why you would want an extra addon to handle your tooltips when you already have a great one that handles them just fine.

You know, I didn't realize LS was modifying all tool tips. I'll have to try it on it's own first. Thanks!

Some people want a tooltip addon so they can move their tooltip. I let people do that with LS. I also let people change the color and opacity of the tooltip borders and background. As for extra information into the tooltip, LS doesn't do any of that. TinyTip colored the tooltips (which I didn't like) but also colored parts of the tooltip (like level, name, guild name, etc) which was kinda cool ... but something I wouldn't really use. Sooo ... if you just want to move the tooltip position and color it, LS will take care of ya

The problem is, I want *all* tooltips to appear where the mouse cursor is. You have given that option for LS tooltips, but not for game tooltips. That's the only reason I used TinyTip!

I actually think that is a bug. Because if you have it set to where the mouse cursor is and then click apply to in game tooltips, it should behave that way for all tooltips. But it doesn't, LS tooltips are on the mouse cursor, and other game tooltips are where you put the anchor.

"Set GameTooltip Anchor" only works with that anchor I let people move around. It's stationary and that's about it. I might add a check box, "Mouse," to the GameTooltip anchor box that, when clicked, will have the GameTooltip appear at the mouse location and it will appear at the top, bottom, left, right, top-left, top-right, etc of the mouse, based upon the anchor edge on the square. Then you can have the GameTooltip appear at the mouse cursor as well

Heh heh. No worries, CowTip is working out nicely. It would be nice to eventually not have to have a separate tool tip mod, but for now, I'm happy. Thanks for the great sphere! Now I just need some good templates!

ricowanYer welcome. Glad it's working for you. ExuroAs it's been said, LS only modifies it's own tooltips. I like having customizable tooltips for everything else as well, in which I use CowTip cause I have the option to set it up to show EXACTLY what I want to know info wise as well as make it look how I want it to.

LS modifies it's own tooltips and the position of all game tooltips. I just use bartender3 to get rid of the unwanted stuff in the regular game tooltips and let LS handle the placement.
