Stage 2 is officially old and a new stage is out. If you linked to this page, you might want to back out of this thread and look at the message board (moongazeaddons.proboards79.com/index.cgi?board=lunarsphere). There, you'll find the newest stage in the announcement section. Thanks!

(Note to those who are finding this thread link on another addon's comments. This is the download thread for the beta version of LunarSphere. For information about LS, as well as screenshot and more, exit this thread and check the main LunarSphere message boards. Keep in mind that this addon is NOT finished, which is why I haven't released it to the public yet... ;D)
Thanks for waiting! I'm happy to announce that stage 2 (of about 4 or 5) of the beta test is coming to a close, with this being the last update for it. Stage 3 will be starting soon, but till then, here's some new stuff!
Download the most current (1:30am 6/08/07) beta test here:

After overwriting or reinstalling this new version, make sure that the addon name in your Addon's section of your Character Select screen reads: LunarSphere v.204 (Stage 2) If not, try downloading again or grab the latest version from down below in the Version Tracking log ;D

(All times are Hawaii Standard Time, which is 3 hours behind Cali, and 6 hours behind NY, and you can figure out the rest =)
File Install Info
The file size clocks in at about 88k (zipped), 357k (unzipped)
The in-game memory usages clocks in at around 170k, or 0.170 meg, and doesn't really move too much (unless messing with drop down menus, which is natural)
Installation is simple: Just unzip into your Interface/Addons folder. If you have a previous version of LS, just overwrite all the files. You'll be fine. You will now have a folder called "LunarSphere" and you'll want to make sure it's turned on in your addons menu in WOW. I'm sure everyone knows that already, but eh ... just incase!
Stage 2 Info:
This is a little more exciting. I'll be releasing a patch to this stage sometime this week that will add support for menu buttons, and some extra fun stuff. This stage deals with the buttons. By picking up a spell, item, or macro, your ten buttons around the sphere will appear. Just drag and drop whatever you're holding onto a button of your choice, and it will be set up. If you want to change a button to something else, simply drag another thing onto of it. If you want to delete it all together, simply hold CTRL and RIGHT-CLICK the button. It's gone.
Here's what I monkeyed with:
As usual, any comments or suggestions are welcome in this thread. Speak your mind, I don't care. As for bug reports for this stage, please let me know in the "Beta Stage 2: Errors" thread. I'll still find your bug message if you post it in some place random on the board ... but I'd *prefer* it in that thread ;D
As with all of my releases, I've been cleaning up my code when I have time and commenting the heck out of it. There will still be 20% of the addon that is not commented very well... so if you're interested in what I'm doing, have a look. Just be warned that I haven't given it a good shine or new paint of coat, so it might be confusing

Here's what I monkeyed with:
- Done Sphere settings are now saved on a per-character basis
- Done Ability to assign and remove actions to the buttons
- Done Buttons that hold items will automatically update their count of that item as you gain or lose that item
- Done Items that shouldn't show a count (such as your hearthstone, mount, armor and weapons) will not have a count on the button
- Done Buttons that are assigned spells will turn blue when you don't have enough mana to cast them, red if the target it out of range, and darken if you cannot use the spell (such as being on your flight path, not having a reagent for it, etc)
- Done Buttons that have spells or items assigned to them will display their cooldown when used. This cooldown is in the appearance of a text countdown
- Done For those interested, the Debug tab in the settings window has a "Memory Usage Printout" button. Clicking it will dump a list into the chat window so you can see how much memory each of your loaded addons use
- Done Ability to convert any of the 10 main buttons into a menu button that opens up 10 new buttons when clicked
- Done Ability to bring up the "Button" edit dialog to change the settings of a specific button
- Done Ability to assign left, middle, and right click actions to a button
- Not done Bandage recognition in the "Item Recognition" module (only accessed in Debug tab, under "Item Printout").
- Not done Item count updating in the "Item Recognition" module (only accessed in Debug tab, under "Item Printout").
