Thanks for waiting! I'm happy to announce that stage 1 (of about 4 or 5) of the beta test has started.
Download the most current (2:09am 5/20/07) beta test here:

Version Tracking Log:
(This is a list of all versions and the time they were uploaded, with the most recent also on top)
2:09am 5/20/07 (Change: Added color changing to the gauges and sphere and lowered the strata of the sphere so frames can go on top of it)

10:21pm 5/14/07 (Change: Added some buttons, fixed some bugs, added sphere scale and "Tuesday Log" debug mode)
www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/21/1005347/LunarSphere_1500.zip
1:45pm 5/6/07 (Change: Removed floating action button that did nothing for now)
www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/21/1005347/LunarSphere_0004.zip
2:41am 5/6/07 (Change: Fix another mount recognition issue)
www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/21/1005347/LunarSphere_0003.zip
1:55am 5/6/07 (Change: Fix mount recognition issue)
www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/21/1005347/LunarSphere_0002.zip
1:25am 5/6/07 (Change: Original Upload)
www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/21/1005347/LunarSphere_0001.zip
(All times are Hawaii Standard Time, which is 3 hours behind Cali, and 6 hours behind NY, and you can figure out the rest =)
The file size clocks in at about 76k (zipped), 307k (unzipped)
The in-game memory usages clocks in at around 116k, or 0.116 meg, and doesn't really move too much (unless messing with drop down menus, which is natural)
Installation is simple: Just unzip into your Interface/Addons folder. You will now have a folder called "LunarSphere" and you'll want to make sure it's turned on in your addons menu in WOW. I'm sure everyone knows that already, but eh ... just incase!
This is just a boring one, honestly. You get a sphere that you can move around the screen. You can right click it to bring up the settings menu. There, you'll be able to mess with a few display options for the gauges and the sphere itself. I was going to add the color changing option to the first stage, but I was running out of time. Sooo ... that will make it into a Stage 1 patch soon. Here's what I monkeyed with:
Any comments, bug reports, ... ANYTHING about this stage of the beta ... please let me know in this thread. In the future, I will have separate sections for bug reports and comments per stage, but for now, dump everything here =)
Oh, and because I was rushed a little to finish this, I didn't fully comment my code. If you are interested in looking at my code, go for it. Just be warned that I haven't given it a good shine or new paint of coat, so it might be confusing =) I admit, there's a good amount of commenting in SOME parts, lol

Sooo ... that will make it into a Stage 1 patch soon. Here's what I monkeyed with:
- Done Turn on and off the inner gauge
- Done Set how many marks appear in inner or outer gauge (0, 5, 10, or 20)
- Done Set the event to watch in a gauge (health, mana, 5 second rule, rage, energy, exp, rep, etc.)
- Done Set the event to watch in the sphere texture (same as gauges)
- Done Turn on and off the sphere's "shine"
- Done Change the sphere texture (currently: standard orb or player 2D portait ... makes a Kingdom Hearts feeling come to mind)
- Done Turn on and off animation for inner and outer gauges
- Done Turn on sphere text shadow (to make it easier to see the text on light colored spheres)
- Done Turn on or off the ability to make the marks in the gauges darker
Done Debug mode: Prints out a list of all items in your inventory (not bank) that the addon recognizes as a drink, food, potion, mount, or hearthstone. Please test this to make sure it picks up everything it should. As of right now, it won't find Alterac water, nor any special PVP type items...
