Stage 1 (of about 4 or 5 main stages) will begin in the next couple days. Stage 1 will focus on just the sphere, with some monitoring events thrown in for the gauges that go around the sphere, as well as the text that appears on the sphere, some other options, and ... that's about it. I know, it's a little boring for the first part, but this is how things start. There will be ideas people will have as to what I should show on the sphere text or in the gauges, so this will give you that opportunity. Features enabled in this version will include the following: - Turn on and off the inner gauge
- Set how many marks appear in inner or outer gauge (0, 5, 10, or 20)
- Set the event to watch in a gauge (health, mana, 5 second rule, rage, energy, exp, rep, etc.)
- Set the event to watch in the sphere texture (same as gauges, plus current gold, specific item count, etc)
- Change color of the gauges and save new default colors for each event
- Change the color of the sphere
- Turn on and off the sphere's "shine"
- Change the sphere texture (currently: standard orb or player 2D portait ... makes a Kingdom Hearts feeling come to mind)
Other items might appear, but that is the standard idea. I will also have an option in the settings menu (under Debug) which will have a button. Pressing this button called "Item Display" will dump the names of ALL items recognized by the sphere as Food, Drink, Mana Potions, Health Potions, and Mounts that your character currently has in their position. For those who want to be a big help, I'll need you to take a look at this list that prints out and verify it against what you have in inventory. If you find a water or a food, or hell, even a mount that you own (on your person, not the bank =P) that is not in the list, let me know. As of right now, it shouldn't detect PVP water and food (such as Alterac Valley's stuff). This information is essential, as it is the backbone of the dynamic item buttons that I'll be having in the addon. That way, I can load up the best mount, water, food, or potion, without needing to localize that much =)

Glad to hear everyone is looking forward to it. I have a huge list of ideas to add to this addon, but I gotta take it one step at a time. I will be playing with pre-set spell configurations at some point, so people can click, say, "Serenity Setup" and the sphere will be auto setup to Serenity's look. However, that won't make it into the first "official" version. Maybe a 1.2 or 1.4 ... depending on what I have on the plate at that time. I'm still having some strange video card issues. I get my ATI card stuck in an infinite loop while playing WOW, which is an issue that ATI and nVidia cards have had for a while with Windows XP. Updating drivers, rolling back drivers, changing as many of the settings I can ... still don't help. I think it might have something to do with the power supply for my notebook, but that's a little hard to mess with, unlike a desktop. Then again, maybe my video card is a little fried, which would suck because it's an on-board ATI Radion x700... can't just pop it out =( I'll keep monkeying with the computer. It's a little disheartening to test things in WOW, and then crash the computer half-way through the testing ... maybe I'll grab a fan and have it blow on the notebook, to keep it cool. I doubt it's an overheating issue, as it happens even after I just boot up, but who knows ...

Well, my computer seems to be working pretty well. I popped open my notebook and removed the junk heating pads that were on my CPU and graphics chip and replaced it with some Arctic Silver. Man, my CPU was usually running at 75C, but it's purring at 40C now. HUGE difference, and my computer is MUCH more stable.
Soooo ... I'll be doing a lot more work now that I have a stable computer. Next week will be finals week for me, so I don't be able to do too much during the week, which is why I want to push out the first stage this weekend. I've been adding small things here and there to the settings menu so you can all play with the sphere a little. I'll spend some good time tomorrow and Friday getting this bad boy ready, and I will hopefully begin the first stage on Saturday, at some point in time.
I'll email everyone when that time comes. Thanks for being patient! ;D

More updates for everyone. The first stage of the beta test is still on track for this weekend. I've been finishing some code to make my life easier for the settings window, and I'm very pleased with the results. For the settings, here's what it was, and what I have implemented tonight: - Turn on and off the inner gauge Done
- Turn on and off the sphere's "shine" Done
- Change the sphere texture (currently: standard orb or player 2D portait ... makes a Kingdom Hearts feeling come to mind)
- Added: Turn on and off animation for inner and outer gauges Done
- Added: Turn on sphere text shadow (to make it easier to see the text on light colored spheres) Done
Honestly, all the finished items took me about 5 minutes to add, with the code I currently have. The other options will require a drop down list, and I'm creating a special way of handling the lists so I take up a little less memory and it's easy to impliment. That's what tomorrow is for =) I have all of the listed options finished, but I need a way for you all to access them. Well, I still need to finish a few of the event types ... I'll try to finish as many as I can so you can mess with them on the first stage. I'll have four tabs on the settings window for this version. The contents will be separated into four catagories: Sphere, Outer Gauge, Inner Gauge, and our special Debug. More information to come. Oh, here's another teaser... ... lol, Kindom Hearts! ;D

I'm still on track to release stage one of the beta today (Saturday) ... but it won't be for another hour or so. Here's a quick update on what has been implimented. Sadly, I live in Hawaii, so I'm a few hours behind a lot of people, so most of you might not even see the beta until Sunday. Either way, it's almost here, and I will dump it before midnight my time! ;D - Done Turn on and off the inner gauge
- Set how many marks appear in inner or outer gauge (0, 5, 10, or 20)
- Done Set the event to watch in a gauge (health, mana, 5 second rule, rage, energy, exp, rep, etc.)
- Done Set the event to watch in the sphere texture (same as gauges, plus current gold, specific item count, etc (Next stage) )
- Done Turn on and off the sphere's "shine"
- Done Change the sphere texture (currently: standard orb or player 2D portait ... makes a Kingdom Hearts feeling come to mind) Done
