I know in the read this first post you said only new addons, but the author of Recount stoped developing it and it has the potential to be the most used meter/analyizer by all wow users. I used to use sw stats, but that doesn't work w/ 2.3 and the author stoped working on it. So then I heard about Recount, and it the most amazing raid analysis tool I have ever seen. The mod is near completion, just needs some last minuate touches and refinements. This means it wouldn't takke too much for you to take this over. You are the only addon author I have ever seen who actually keeps it's users informed. In additon to that you are a very gifted programmer who's talents yould be an assest to the project. It is in ace, but I hope that doesn't detur you from at least looking at the project. The main page for it is here: www.wowace.com/wiki/Recount.

I've heard about that addon from some guildies. They love it. I checked out the wiki page and saw the screen shots ... very nice. Sadly, it's built using Ace, and I dislike Ace for one simple reason. If something that is not yours breaks (one of the libraries), so does your addon. That's the ONE big thing I hate about Ace addons. If someone uses a library to do some cool or easy stuff in their own addon, but that library becomes outdated or the author stops updating it and it breaks, every addon that used it breaks and, unless someone repairs the broken library, it will disappear like all the other addons that are not kept up-to-date. Even though it's an Ace addon, that won't stop me from taking and look at it, poking around, and maybe upkeeping it a little bit. At least add some code to make someone else's life easier when they take over the project, if I don't I can take a look at what it does and needs to do and update it in the future I suppose. I'm sure someone will take it over within the next month or so though. As for what needs to be touched up or made better, I suppose I would need a list of things to work on. Using it would probably let me know some of those issues Any ideas you can think of that need fixing or changing? I already decided that I would change the scroll bar texture to something else and have it match the color of the window title bar, to make the addon look more streamlined. I wouldn't use my scrollbar art, since it really is different and not the best in the world. I made it only so it looks like the WOW artwork style. I think the author said something about the graph lines not being able to change color once the window is open ... I'd probably fix that too. I dunno. So, yeah, I can take a look at it in the future, after I get my stuff settled here

Wow, I really appreicate your enthusaism about this, espeically knowing how much you don't like ace. Trust your guildies, this really is an amazing addon. The author has been gone for about 3 months and it hasn't been picked up. In the least it would be great if you could keep it up to date. I was just wondering how difficult it is to "un-ace" something?
As for a list of problems, there is a forum thread on this. It is about 23 pages long, but i'll start looking through it to find some of ppl's problems and then maybe add in some of my own suggestions.
I think it would be a great idea if you transfer it over to these boards to get some real feedback from ur loyal testers:) All you would have to do is give some credit to the original outhor, and then take off w/ it by yourself from there.

It seems the author stopped responding to user’s posts on page 5 out of 23. Forum link here: www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=6921.0 I was going to do a lot of copy and paste here for you while skipping the unimportant stuff and avoiding duplicate entries. However when I started doing that, I couldn’t decide what to pick. If you don’t want to go through all that I wouldn’t blame you. If you would like to spend some time on this, you could add it to these forums, meaning you could just start with bug reports and suggestions from the current version.

Someone else picked up this mod and development is going ok, as well as keeping it up to date. So I guess there is no longer a need for you to look at this.
