Having a warlock and a couple of hunters, I've kept using bartender3 to control my pets. I've looked for mods that were just for the pet action bar, to no avail. (Petbar, for instance, apparently wants to put MY actions related to my pet on a bar. This isn't very useful as I already have those on LS.)
Is LS eventually going to support the pet action bar? Currently dragging a pet's ability to a button in LS does nothing for me. Obviously, I would want the actions assigned to be different depending on what pet I had out. Setting them for auto on/off with a click is still essential. I can understand how this would not be fun to code. Perhaps a button could be set, like with stance, as a pet action bar button and the child buttons on the menu would auto populate with a possible option to move them around. Most of the bar mods I've ever had just do that.
Another thing LS doesn't want to do is suppress the default pet action bar, which is another reason I keep bartender3. I don't normally look at the pet action bar, as it has keybindings. Barring the first question/request/idea/spam?? this would help, too.
I swear I've searched for this, because I know it's come up before. I had no luck. Everything was about speeches and whatnot.

The pet bar will be on the hide UI list very soon. It was supposed to be there a while ago, but got lost in the shuffle as the speech thing appeared and multiple issues with healthstones and mana gems popped up. I'm revisiting that idea any day now.
As for the pet actions, I am going to be doing one of a few things:
1) Figure out some ingenius way of allowing a user to drag them and assign them to a button (don't hold your breath on this one, it's a little akward and hard).
2) Have an option on the menu buttons that says: "Pet bar" which will make the submenu buttons all pet bar buttons that map to your real pet bar (which would most likely be hidden).
3) On a button itself, there will be a pet button action (similar to how there is "Drink," "Mana Potion," "Health Potion," etc, which will have a subgroup of options called "Pet Bar Button 1," "Pet Bar Button 2," etc. This would let you show only the pet buttons you care about and ignore the rest. You could also drag them to a new location as well. This would offer the MOST customizablility for users. However, if I can somehow make idea #1 work, idea #3 would be an extention of it, since when you drag the icon from idea #1, it would auto-assign "Pet button 1" or whatever.
We'll see. I'm just happy that I can stop working on Stage 6 stuff and move onto more fun stuff. The rest of this project is simple editing/creating code, where the rest involved massive database designs or full module creation, and that takes a while ;D Midterms are this week, so I doubt I'll do much, but NEXT week is Spring Break, and, well ... I do like sleeping in, and I do like coding, and I do like not having to be in school for 10 days.

2 or 3 would be more than sufficient. 3 would be nicer, as the pet action bar doesn't need to take up a whole menu (especially with LS.. which.. y'know.. can stack the abilities, 3 per button.. one of its more apparent features, btw.. dunno if you noticed it.. hehehe.. btw.. LS is a pretty neat AddOn.. you should check it out... .... I've lost my mind. Oh yeah, but wait!! I forgot.. It would have to check which pet you have out currently. cuz like. . . My spider can't learn dash but my kitteh can. BUT! if it's getting its information from the original pet action bar, I suppose this is a given!.... .... Did i mention I've lost my mind? It's the stress, really....

I'm thrilled that this mod is so actively worked on! So often I come across stuff that's awesome, but has one flaw that ruins it. So thanks a million for working on the pet bar - I'm a priest and I use too many macros to be able to set it myself. For now, I'll just sit back and wait. Ideally, I too would appreciate option 3 the most, since I can set hotkeys for pet actions. At any rate, I'm a total convert, so I'm happy regardless

Quick follow up: Here's a simple macro that will let you use a LunarSphere button for a pet bar action (in this case, the 4th button):
/click [button:1] PetActionButton4; [button:2] PetActionButton4 RightClick; [button:3] PetActionButton4 MiddleClick
Just drag this to a button for all three slots and it'll behave almost exactly as expected.
The only thing it does not do is show the right icon. Now, you can add to the beginning:
#show Lightning Breath
.... but that's not too general. I've no idea how to get the feedback to work on the picture.

I spent a few minutes getting some test buttons going that would use the pet action bar and things went well. I'll be adding the "Pet Action Button 1-10" button types, probably in the next version. I'm going to be spending part of Sunday getting the code ready so the button will also display the proper icon as well, then we should have pet action support pretty much ready to roll out. The macros will work good until then Thanks!

Awesome - That's exactly what I was hoping for, since I can't figure for the life of me how to get the macro to show the right icon across pets (without hardcoding it )
