I currently don't have shadow spec, nor have I ever used it (I know, I know ... playing a holy priest until 70 was a strange move) but I can guess at an idea that you can try. At least, this is what I would do =)
[Edit: Sadly, I just found out that Shadowform is no longer "truely" considered a shapeshift form, so it won't be recognized as such in the Button Settings window for the same reasons why Paladin auras and Hunter aspects no longer count. Sorry, but the way LS is coded right now ... there is no way to do what you want =( ]
1) Go to one of 5 main buttons on the left of the sphere and make it into a menu button
2) Next, check "Use stances" so that it is on. Shadow form should be the second stance that will appear, if I remember correctly.
3) We want the menu to always show, so on the menu opening options for that particular menu button, select "Always open." Of course, if you want to be able to close the menu, just leave it as "Click-to-open, click-to-close" ... since stance menus ALWAYS open when you switch stances (just the way it has to be)
4) Now, this menu will be your shadow form, so save the button settings so that you can mess around with the 12 buttons that have spawned next to it, on the left.
5) Next you can do one of two things. A) Use the shadowform spell on your priests to switch over to shadowform. Now, drag all spells you want to use onto the 12 new buttons on the left of the menu button. These will automatically be assigned to the current stance you are in. Notice that I did not instruct you to assign any spells while in NORMAL form Or, you can: B) Click each button and make sure the stance that is selected is the shadowform stance. Then, drag your spells to the assignment boxes for the left, middle, and right clicks, as needed. Once finished with the button, hit save and move to the next button.
6) After this set of buttons is created, exit "Button Edit" mode. Your menu should be still open (since it was set to "Always open"). If you switch out of shadowform it should disappear. Technically, it is switching to stance 0 (normal form) when you do that, and since you did not assign any spells for normal mode, the buttons just disappear. Switching back into shadowform will make it reappear.
7) Turn on "Button Edit" mode again and pick one of the main buttons on the right side of the sphere. This button will need to be turned into a menu button again.
8) Turn on stance support for the button and also set the menu opening options to "Always open." Or, you can leave it as "Click-to-open, click-to-close" if you like.
9) Now, make sure you are in normal form again and assign your shadow spells again. If you are doing the drag-and-drop method, they will auto-assign to your current stance (0, normal). Or, you can click the button to view the Button Settings window and assign the actions from there, saving when you are done, per button. Do not assign any spells to the "Shadowform" stance, or else you won't get what you want
10) After all spells have been assigned in normal form, exit "Button Edit" mode. If you are in normal form, you should see a menu on the right side with all of your shadow spells and no menu on the left. If you switch into Shadowform, your right side menu should disappear (technically it is switching to stance 1, which is shadowform, and you don't have anything assigned on that one, so it's empty and hidden) and your left side menu should now appear.
Hopefully these instructions work for you and it does what you expected. I have my priest queued to be copied onto the public test realm and it should be there tomorrow. When it's there, I'll respec and try some stuff out. I kinda want to keep my "1g" respec cost for some reason, on my main. It's silly, I know ... but I just kinda do =)
